Alaşehir Ziraat Odası
We played an active and effective role in the face to face survey studies conducted to establish the baseline analysis within the scope of the GYSU Project. Thanks to our strong and trust based relationships with producers in the region, we made a significant contribution to completing the fieldwork with high participation and reliable data sets.
Alaşehir is a strategic center for grape production in Türkiye in terms of cultivated area, production volume, and seedless table and raisin grape varieties that are subject to export. At the same time, in this region where intensive agricultural activities are carried out, water use, fertilization practices, and the impacts of climate change are among the main risk areas faced by producers.
Within this framework, the survey study we contributed to provided direct input to the design and implementation phases of the GYSU Project by revealing producer behaviors, existing agricultural practices, and priority needs in the field. The findings will enable the training content, pilot implementations, and good agricultural practices to be designed in a more targeted and effective manner, specifically for Alaşehir.
The GYSU Project offers a participatory approach that is informed by local knowledge, places producers at the center, and supports the long term sustainability of grape production in Alaşehir.
